A Lovely Day to Knit in Public...

I know, I know, I haven't been around lately. To put it simply, I'm exhausted. I've been painting walls like a mad woman until around 7 or 8 pm as many nights as I can and at some point I hit a wall and stuck to it. I can't seem to get un-tired no matter what I try. But that's all besides the point. I'll update my FO's and going's-on and Hank some other day, perhaps tomorrow. For now, it's all about World Wide Knit in Public Day, which, if you're as into yarn as I am, you know was today.

Here we are, all the Knitterpudlians gathered together in front of our very own LYS, the Ball n' Skein (I'm the barefoot one, who, though it won't mean anything to you, is looking startling more like my mother every day). Lexa, our 'insider' at the shop, held a fishbowl sale in honour of the day. Various percentages were put in a fishbowl and shoppers got to pick their little tag before making a purchase. Awesome. I got a 35% slip and scored a sweaters worth of Patons Classic Merino in navy blue for a GREAT price! Yeeha! That Central Park Hoodie I've been covetting for some time now is just a few dozen evenings away.

Unfortunately not all of our little group were able to go on the road trip to Mahone Bay, where the knitters there were holding an event and yarn sale at Have a Yarn. Our first stop was the Biscuit Eater for lunch and public knitting. Pictured here is Heddy enjoying a scrummy chicken sammy, sporting a Knitterpudlian logo T that she designed! And yes, it's backwards. I'll let her blog about that.

Nova Knitter, Heddy and a lovely Lunenburg Knitter that we met pictured here having a grand time. Looks like fun, dunnit? Well, it was. I wish our fantasy deck was a reality, cuz knitting outside is, well, delish. I quite enjoy it. After our little visit we went to The Greatest Place on Earth, Have a Yarn for more shopping and kibbitzing with other knitters, mostly about the wonders of Ravelry. There, I scored the last three balls of Regia Nation Colour in that awesome rainbow colourway and a pink ball of Lana Wool Gatto for a Skull Isle hat that I've had in mind for a while now.

The weather was perfect, the company was divine and the yarn was a total bargain. I don't know how much better a Saturday can get. Wait, I do know...an icy cold beer, a fuzzy dog snoozing on my knee and the option of falling asleep and not getting up until sometime mid-Sunday. Huzzah.

Very much looking forward to next year! That's all I can manage for now. Until later...

I so wish I could have gone today! Must do a road trip this year when I'm off. Remember, HAY is open Sundays, but we're closed!

Heddy e-mailed me and said she got my Trekking. Cool. I knit outside all the time, it's great. I'll go out with the kids or just sit somewhere in the yard, and when we go camping I like to sit outside as well. I was impressed when I came out of the doctor's office Friday -- there was a lady in the waiting room knitting. Gotta love it!

For someone as tired as you are, you have been a busy little bee tonight. And after our very full and fun day today, I thought you would be out like a light by 8 p.m.

It was a lot of fun ... although I look a bit (hmm ... think of a delicate way to say this -- hmmm) constipated as i am ooohing over my sandwich! lol! Good, food, good friends and great yarn -- I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon!
